Getting to Know Kuala Lumpur
With only 2 weeks left in Thailand, we were still undecided on our next step - Vietnam? Penang Island? Kuala Lumpur? Ultimately, we decided on Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — it’s easy to fly to, on the way to Singapore, well known to be a good spot for expats, and as probably the most modernized city in Southeast Asia, a change of scenery from our small town living in Thailand.
Into the Future with Petronas
Driving out of the Kuala Lumpur’s airport, the city's dramatic skyline studded with towering skyscrapers left us in awe, even after having been in Tokyo! Remember when Petronas Towers took the mantle of tallest building in the world from Sears Tower in ‘96? It was a big deal! Today, however, the KL skyline has a lot more to offer, including the ominous Merdeka 118, the 2nd tallest building in the world.
