Conviviendo in Turkey
We have been sooooo looking forward to Istanbul, where Sara and Giovanni (our inspiration for this year of travel) and their girls decided to join us for some “Conviviendo” magic. And, finally, at the end October — they arrived!
Where to Stay in Istanbul?
In this giant city of fifteen million and hundreds of neighborhood, you’ll find an overwhelming number of recommendations of where to stay. But for those spending just a couple weeks or less, since you will likely want easy access to other areas, your optimal location will be in one of just three districts— Kadıköy, Fatih or Beyoğlu.
Getting Around Istanbul
Istanbul is a giant city divided by two rivers and often plagued by traffic. Get the low down on all the transport options available we tried during our 10 days there: trams, ferries, metro, taxies, etc.
Karousing in Kadıköy
Kadıköy was the perfect neighborhood for the first part of our stay in Istanbul, with its abundance of lively cafes during the day and vibrant, restaurant-filled streets at night. This part of Istanbul has warmth and spirit bursting from every nook and cranny.
